our wines
Wine is made in the vineyard. At the moment that the grapes
are harvested the flavor compounds, aromatics and precursors
that become the finished wine have already been created. Minimal
intervention allows the natural attributes of the varietal
and vintage to reveal themselves in the wines each vintage,
rather than a particular required style that prevails from
vintage to vintage. Some would argue that the winemaker’s
style should be imposed in order to create uniform wines.
This is like only being allowed to look at a single style
of art.
Every
single year the weather and growing conditions are completely
different. These parental influences can produce wines that
are tannic and earthy one year, while the next they can be
fruity and aromatic. Part of the pleasure of enjoying wine
is the taste of each unique vintage and the flavor profile,
which prevails each particular growing season.
Our current releases are available for purchase
here, as well as in many restaurants and specialty wine
stores across the country. For those of you who may find an
earlier release in one of these establishments, or who have
saved a few bottles of our wines in your own cellar or wine
storage, our Library section includes winemaking and tasting
notes on previous vintages. |
